Issues

The era of broken promises is over. Now is the time for honest and responsive leadership on the Jacksonville City Council – leadership that will work for our entire community and not just the select, privileged few.

I’m running to be your fresh voice who unites us around the common goal of a safer, healthier, and more prosperous community where every person can thrive. It’s time we elect leaders who will promote equality and equity, and bring a new brand of leadership that embraces, not shuns, all of our different communities. Working together, we’ll promote a bolder and brighter future for Jacksonville.

Joshua will undergo a listening tour over the coming months with meet and greets across Duval County to discuss the crucial issues facing our city, including these priorities:

Addressing disparities so that every resident has a good quality of life and can support their family, no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they live.
Addressing ongoing infrastructure failures throughout Jacksonville and making smart investments that benefit everyone.
Devoting ourselves to tackling climate change for our city by the river, including coastal erosion and flooding, while protecting our pristine natural resources.
Addressing the decades of broken promises to communities in need by bringing every community to the table to build a Jacksonville we can all thrive in.
Attracting companies and supporting small businesses that hire a diverse workforce and provide their employees good-paying jobs.
Acting on our housing crisis by using federal funding to build more units, while incentivizing developers to incorporate affordable units in planned developments and to help keep rent at stable levels.
Developing a strategic plan for a thriving downtown that brings together businesses and residents from across the city, while also creating real actionable plans for 5, 10, and 20 years down the road.
